Cell Phones and other electronics are prohibited. The student with a device which rings during an exam will be given a 0.
A student who looks at another copy will be given a 0.
A student who allows another to copy will be given a 0.
Memory aids must be hand written with the individual's writing. Memory aids will be checked and picked up. Photocopied versions will be given a 0.
Student ID is required in the examination room. Any ID is permitted.
The supervisor will be one other than the regular teacher.
The supervisor and teacher are not allowed to answer questions during the examination. The regular teacher is not allowed to visit the examination room.
Students can leave after the half way point of the duration of the exam. (1hr and a half)
Students will not be allowed to share material.
Students must have a ruler.
The grade on the final exam counts for 50% of the Summative final grade. The other 50% is the combination of the 3 terms.
For Secondary 4 students, the grades are modified by the Ministry; therefore, only they can know what the final grade will be. Click on this document if you'd like to attempt to understand the Moderation of Uniform Exams from MELS (pretty complicated).
For a MELS exam, a student's final mark cannot be lower than the mark on their final exam.
For a MELS exam, a student who gets a 60% on the final exam passes no matter the marks during the year.
