How many sessions will I need?
This all depends on you. If you would like a try-out session, or a few sessions just for a particular test, it will be all up to you. Most students take an hour weekly just to keep up-to-date with the material covered in class; for example: Saturday's at 10am is reserved for Julia. Others like to see Miss Nassif for a chapter summary when she tells them what notions to focus on for the test and then goes over practice questions.
What is covered in the one-on-one lessons?
During the lesson, Miss Nassif makes sure the student understands the concepts taught in class by going through the student's notes and questioning the student on what they have retained. She goes over everything: the formulas, the equations, the graphs and word problems. She encourages the student to write the entire time so that the lesson is at their speed. She tells them to write any necessary/extra notes, tips, and hints in their notebook. She pin-points common errors and emphasizes the right way of writing math and calculating properly. Then she goes over practice questions such as the homework. If the student is up to par, she throws in exam-type questions that come up at final exams. She also goes over students' quizzes and tests.
What is the cost?
Please contact for fees for a math intensive one-on-one hour with Miss Nassif. This includes access to the section of this website where the student can find an abundance of Miss Nassif's personal notes and exercises with solutions to topics studied in class. The fee also includes extra notes, stencils, practice questions, tests and exams that she prints during the session for the student.
What does the student need to bring to the lessons?
If the student can bring all necessary equipment: pencil case with calculator and math documents, then Miss Nassif can better lead the student in the right direction - that is towards improvement and success. She makes sure notes are properly taken and no mistakes are made when copying the board in class. She tells the student how to improve on note-taking, if necessary. For example, color scheming titles and writing the date make notes more organized.
